Swoop

Rapid canopies allow those who master there canopy perfectly, to carry out some moves close to the ground at high speed. A canopy at top speed can reach in between 40 and 50 mph.

There are some events based on mastering canopies close to the ground but it's is not recognised as an official discipline in France (mainly for security reasons). In the United States, Reg Eastaugh and R. J. Worth have started the competitions in landing and going down snow sloops.

The Swoop consists of a demonstration of figures at the landing. The few competitions take place above water to minimise the dammage in case of an accident. The canopy is put to top speed by making it dive to the ground and changing this speed into flying energie in order to get the longest glide possible just above the ground, lift your canopy back in the air or carry out a slalom.

The Blade Running is being practiced on snowslopes that are marked out by high blades to form a course for slalom. The participants jump from a helicopter at the top of the slope and go down passing through the blades without ever touching the ground.
